Despite spending four years at Elon University, just two years apart, walking the same brick sidewalks, and even studying abroad and living in the same London flat—just two years apart—we never actually crossed paths! It took Bumble to finally bring us together.
At the time, we had unknowingly been following remarkably similar life paths for over 15 years. We both moved to Washington, DC around the same time, built our early careers there, and later found ourselves arriving in Boston within months of each other. Kevin, to move back to his hometown, and Sam to move to a city that has felt like home since she first visited in 2007. When we met, it felt less like a coincidence and more like an invisible string that connected us was finally becoming visible.
In our first few dates, where simple plans for drinks and appetizers turned into hours of talking, laughing, we quickly realized how naturally our lives seemed to fit together.
What started as a swipe quickly grew into everyday moments we have loved—walking around new neighborhoods, trading stories about our overlapping-but-never-intersecting years, and discovering how much we shared despite having lived parallel lives for so long.
Two years later, on Nantucket, Kevin asked Sam a question that made the next step feel effortless. With the Brandt Lighthouse in the background and a future we were already building, Sam said yes and we spent the best weekend celebrating and dreaming of what is to come.
We are so grateful for the family and friends who have supported us along the way and who will be there as we begin this next chapter and can't wait for October 2026!
